Voici le palmares du prestigieux prix d'art aborigène remis à Darwin

chaque année à la mi-août.

14 August 2013 | The main winner and category winners of the 30th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAAs) have been announced.

Renowned glass artist Jenni Kemarre Martiniello has been awarded the main $40,000 Telstra Award for her hot blown glass work Golden Brown Reeds Fish Trap, pictured above. She states that her artistic practice aims to pay tribute to traditional Aboriginal weaving practices through the contemporary medium of glass and to combine the two aesthetics. Her winning work has been called the standout of the exhibition.

Mavis Ngallametta has been awarded the $4,000 painting award for Yalgumunken #3, shown above. It shows country where she digs yellow clay from across a river bed and swamp.

Another category award went to Raymond Zada. His video work Sorry combines excerpts from two landmark speeches by Australian prime ministers - Paul Keating's 1993 Redfern address and Kevin Rudd's apology. It was awarded the $4,000 new media award.

The other award categories, all worth $4,000, are for three-dimensional works, bark painting and for works on paper.

There were 77 shortlisted finalists in the 2013 Telstra NATSIAAs The judging panel for this year comprised renowned Indigenous artist Destiny Deacon; curator of Indigenous art at the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, Bruce McLean; and the director of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Pierre Arpin. The 2013 NATSIAA exhibition will run until 10 November at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory in Darwin.
